Dr. Strappelli is a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist at Newham centre for mental health, East London NHS Foundation Trust.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University “G. D’Annunzio”, Chieti. She obtained a postgraduate degree in Psychiatry at the University of Ancona where she gained experience in general psychiatry. She then started practicing as a clinical psychiatrist in several clinics including Riccione, Bergamo, Cagli, Fabriano, Jesi where she worked for 18 years 10 of which as a consultant.
Dr Strappelli moved to the UK in 2006 and has been working intermittently as an Associate Specialist and locum consultant at the Acute Day Hospital and Home Treatment Team at Newham Centre for Mental Health. In 2016 she was moved to the Community Recovery Team North as an Associate Specialist and she is currently working as a Locum Consultant within the same team. She is an active collaborator to the Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry- World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Services Development. She is co-author of scientific publications in international journals.
She is a member of the following professional bodies: the Italian Psychiatry Association, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Medical Association. In Italy she is in the official register of Psychotherapists with expertise in group therapy.
