Doctor Castiello has twenty years of post-graduate experience. She qualified in Rome's La Sapienza University, in 2001. After completion of Specialisation in Cardiology and a long humanitarian mission in Africa, she earned a consultant post at San Raffaele in Rome. She is now settled in London, with a young family. In her spare time, she loves to keep updated, she enjoys the galleries and museums of London and she keeps fit.
Currently Dr Castiello leads the Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Service at Croydon University Hospital. Her imaging specialty is Cardiac MRI, which she performs at King's College and St Thomas Hospital.
Alongside clinical duties she is very active in the national and international scientific societies.
She is principal investigator of a number of trials and she is author of peer review papers and on line educational sources. She has also a relevant teaching role within the Royal Society of Medicine, since she is the Education Lead for the heart failure trainees in London.
Her approach is one of prevention and early diagnosis. She offers the most updates therapies and clinical knowledge, in friendly yet professional environment. She always puts the person before their disease and gives careful attention to her patient's psychological state and social environment.
