Dr. Fabrizio Cecaro

Dr. Cecaro is a senior Consultant Cardiologist specializing in heart failure, cardiomyopathies, regenerative medicine, and advanced imaging. He currently holds positions at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup, London and Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, where he serves as the clinical lead for heart failure.

Dr. Cecaro completed his medical degree with distinction (110/110 summa cum laude) at Bologna University in Italy. He pursued specialized training in Ferrara, Italy, under the guidance of Prof. Roberto Ferrari, the former president of the European Society of Cardiology. During this period, he gained invaluable experience at one of Italy's premier centres for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure and cardiomyopathy.

In recognition of his research capabilities, Dr. Cecaro was granted a prestigious European Society of Cardiology Research Grant in 2010. Subsequently, in 2011, he relocated to the United Kingdom to undertake a Ph.D. program focused on the pathophysiology of heart failure as part of the esteemed European Doctor program "Doctor Europaeus".

Dr. Cecaro's professional journey includes the following appointments:

• Specialist Registrar in Cardiology at St. Mary's Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, and Hammersmith Hospital in London from September 2011 to October 2013.
• Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, from September 2011 to September 2013.
• Specialist Registrar at the National Pulmonary Hypertension Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, London, from October 2012 to October 2013.
• Cardiomyopathy Clinical Fellow at the Heart Hospital, University College London Hospitals (a national referral centre for heart muscle disease), NHS Trust, London, from October 2013 to September 2014.

Dr. Cecaro is an active member of renowned professional societies, including the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and Cardiovascular Regenerative and Reparative Medicine.

His contributions to the field have earned him fellowship status with the Royal College of Physicians (London), the Royal Society of Medicine (London), and the Italian Surgical Echocardiography Society. Moreover, he maintains affiliations with more than 20 National and International cardiac Societies and Associations.
